Moments is a workshop designed for Drama Schools, of all year groups in both Music Theatre and Acting courses. Our focus is on developing the understanding, in practical terms, the essence of each moment inside a scene structure.  Releasing the actors thoughts and generating a freedom to explore through establishing their own organic impulse. Leaving their predetermined boldness to one side by simply and effectively serving the writer's vision. This discipline is a must to become a competent actor: leaving all inhibitions at the door, and staying alive to the circumstances.

 Evolving impulse through a logical understanding of the scenes moments, helps relieve the burden of the actor  to constantly perform, which is exhausting. Serving the story and not the actor, is a difficult learning curve for most young students. Finally developing their selfless attitude toward the art, and to be an employable actor post their studies.

• One day course - 6 hrs for up to 20 students

• Original script - zero prep before the day - allowing the scene to develop organically through logic and impulse

• A discussion on practical theories to break down scripts into actionable moments

• Understanding story structure - where does this scene appear within the writers breakdown

• Understanding the circumstances and simplifying to a simple actionable objective

• Students will develop a sense of ownership about their work instead of serving a teachers validation, there is no right or wrong.

• Meeting you scene partner minutes before staged - this happens all too often in film. Acting is a lonely career and one that demands self motivation. 

• Real time directing of the scene to develop their response to direct actions, regardless of their own agenda, they will understand they must ultimately serve a Directors vision

•  The students will gather the knowledge of the Creative Triangle": Actor - Director - Audience, and how to serve that relationship 

• ​Optional Final viewing of the day will be watched by an industry professional (schools choice)
