Wil COLEMAN

Wil Coleman is an Australian Dramatist, Director and Actor. His plays include “Passing Through” which Wil Directed at Mountview Theatre School London 2024, and ‘Basket Boy” a play about a dysfunctional London Family in the midst of tragedy.

As an Acting Coach, Wil has worked with actors for the past 10 years, a former Lamda examiner, Wil has seen the real need for storytelling to be less performative and more truthful.  “Unfortunately, most acting schools are set up for the actor to be reliant on validation, acting can’t be taught, it can only be learnt through the process of doing it, and working with a director in that process”.  Acknowledging this frustration Wil established AREA 4, which is a model that helps young actors develop their talents through practice, without the need to change the person.

Trained as an actor at the “Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts”. Wil left for London to pursue his career in 2012. After a series of plays, a music video and TV, Wil now focuses on Writing, Directing and Coaching actors. A father of 4 child actors himself, Wil understands what is required in the entertainment industry for Children. He is often on set working behind the scenes helping directors linking their vision, and creating his own film projects. Wil is currently writing a book on the process of Acting for young performers and developing a TV series.
